Company description and purpose of company Hero AG

Hero was founded in Lenzburg in 1886 by Gustav Henckell and Gustav Zeiler, whose idea was to preserve fruit and vegetables as gently as possible. In 1889, after the death of Gustav Zeiler, the company was renamed "Henckell und Roth", the then partners. The brand "HERO" was derived from the first letters of the partners. Soon after the turn of the century, the people of Lenzburg bought the Frauenfeld canning factory, the oldest canning factory in Switzerland. Soon a factory was acquired in Breda, Holland and Alcantarilla in Spain. In 1995, Hero was taken over by Schwartau International, Germany. Schwartau announces a clear goal: consistent focus on the Hero brand.
