Company description and purpose of company Albergo Croce Bianca Poschiavo SA

The house was originally built by Francesco and Bernardo Ragazzi, nephews of Rodolfo Ragazzi, for the manufacture of tobacco products. Francesco later decided to open a magnetic clinic in the same house. Unfortunately it didn't work out and so he sold the house to Lorenzo Lardelli, who converted the house into a modest hotel. Shortly afterwards, he left the management of the hotel to the Badrutt family, who decided to name the hotel Badrutt. This was followed by constant changes in the hotel management. The hotel was later bought by Mathias Schmid, a hotel owner in Pontresina. From then on, the hotel was given the name "Hotel Weisses Kreuz". This was followed by Mr Domenico Pitschen, husband of Edina Schmid, who ran the hotel until his death in July 1932. His wife Edina Pitschen continued to run the hotel with the help of Fredy Klein. He came to Poschiavo with his wife Marilli in 1937. Fredy Klein died in 1953. Edina continued to run the hotel together with Mrs. Klein. 3 years later, in December 1956, Edina died and the hotel came back into the possession of the Schmids. Marilli Klein continued to run the hotel alone until 1979. In that year Sincero Lardi from Poschiavo bought the hotel, named it "Albergo Croce Bianca" and offered Marilli Klein to take over the administration, which she refused. So he sold the house again. It became the property of the brothers Armando and Marco Zanolari from Poschiavo. From October 1979 to June 1980 they completely renovated the house. To this day it is still owned by the Zanolari family.
