Company description and purpose of company Flugsportgruppe Zürcher Oberland

The Flugsportgruppe Zürcher Oberland (FGZO) looks back on an interesting and long history. The association was founded in 1948. First the flight took place in Hittnau and later in Speck-Fehraltorf. In 1953 the airfield was approved by the then federal Luftamt approved and 3 years later the official inauguration of the “Speck” airfield took place. The FGZO continued to develop positively. Many people were interested in the Zurich Oberland population. The many sightseeing flights were very popular. Even today, private passenger flights are very popular. And if you prefer to pilot an airplane yourself, you will definitely find the right offer with an individual trial flight under the expert guidance of an FGZO flight instructor! The FGZO today has around 480 members. Speck Airfield offers many possibilities in motor and glider flight for those interested in the third dimension. You can be trained not only to become a private pilot, but also to become a professional pilot. Further training with the aim of being a "line pilot" is also possible at the FGZO. The glacier flight is a special experience. Since the end of 2008, the long-standing tradition with a vintage aircraft can be maintained again. Pilots with a valid license can enjoy a large and modern aircraft fleet. Further details can be found on the FGZO homepage under the heading “Fleet” within motor or glider flight.
