Gemeinde Bauma, Switzerland

Company description and purpose of company Gemeinde Bauma

Since the 17th century Bauma has developed more and more into the center of the upper Töss valley. It owes this priority primarily to the many commercial and craft businesses. The importance of Bauma was increased in 1661 by the granting of market and customs rights. The fair, which takes place twice a year, is still able to attract large numbers of people from all over the region. In the last century, other service companies such as post, rail, bank, notary's office and in 1930 the hospital emerged. Today Bauma is an important commercial and industrial location with medium-sized and small businesses. The largest employers are the company Wolfensberger AG, European industry leader in precision casting, the FBB companies (gravel, concrete and transport company) and the Bauma care center. The Political Community of Bauma also employs over 100 people in a wide variety of areas.
