Swiss Basketball's role is to: a. manage, regulate, supervise, direct, support, encourage and promote basketball as well as the practice of women's and men's basketball in all its forms, in all age categories and in all regions of Switzerland; b. highlight the educational and social value of playing basketball; vs. manage basketball in all regions of Switzerland through participation, development, competitions and the use of commercial means; d. formulate, adopt, enact, interpret and modify in a timely manner appropriate rules and regulations when required by the management or direction of basketball in Switzerland; e. comply at all times with the rules and regulations applicable to it from FIBA and Swiss Olympic; f. organize and promote national men's and women's teams, in different disciplines and categories; g. assign and control the direction and administration of any official regional national or international competition, except for exceptions provided for by regulation; h. establish optimal conditions for the emergence of young talents; i. organize training and continuing education courses for referees, coaches, table officials and commissioners involved in national and international competitions; j. support Regional Associations and their affiliated clubs in the training and continuing education of people involved in regional competitions with the aim of reaching the best level in all regions; k. ensure the proper application of Swiss Basketball sports policy by regional associations and clubs; L. optimally manage available financial resources; mr. establish and operate a basketball judicial system specific to Swiss Basketball and providing mechanisms for appealing decisions and resolving disputes; not. seek, by itself or through other entities, commercial agreements - including sponsorship, marketing opportunities and commercial agreements - relating to the intellectual property of Swiss Basketball and capable of promoting its mission and role; o. ensure the representation of basketball and safeguard its interests with the authorities, the media, the economy and other sports federations and associations in Switzerland and abroad; p. ensure the representation of Swiss Basketball during national or regional events in order to broaden and intensify its control and management of basketball in Switzerland; q. promote the recognition of basketball as one of the main participatory sports in Switzerland; r. take the public interest into account in its operations and decisions; s. take care of the image of the federation; t. implement and/or carry out any action or activity necessary, incidental or conducive to the development of its mission and role; u. Swiss Basketball complies with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act with regard to the data of its licensees, in particular when transmitting them to third parties. Swiss Basketball operates a database for the management of the licensing system. Regional associations and clubs can access their members' data. v. Promote healthy, respectful and fair sport. Swiss Basketball promotes fair play by treating its partners, bodies and members with respect and by acting and communicating in a transparent manner.
