The Kantonsschule Uster (KUS) is a young school with an eventful history. The school was originally founded in 1974 as a branch department of the Zürcher Oberland Cantonal School in Dübendorf as a temporary measure. The Cantonal Council decided early on that the school should move to Uster. Constant growth ensured that the location soon became too small and the school as a branch department too big. In 2006 the canton school became independent and set up a branch in Uster. After troubled years, in 2013 the various locations - Dübendorf and Uster - were merged into the so-called park school campus in Uster. The school is located in an idyllic setting with trees, meadows and a pond, spread over five two-story modular buildings.
