The troupe emerged from a handful of pubescent young people in 1990 at the Winterthur Carnival. With Basler marching drums they marched through the streets and alleys of Winterthur and entertained passers-by with drum compositions. In the following year the percussion group Mega-Drums was founded and the basler drums were replaced by bongo toms, timbales, hi-hats, snares and various effect instruments. The number of members rose from six to 15 and the first uniform costumes were created. In the meantime, we were allowed to help design numerous large and small events, festivals and masked balls and have become a safe asset in the Winterhur carnival landscape. With rhythms from techno to salsa and sometimes hits from the radio, we have brought some places to a boil. Many of our pieces are created through ideas from our members.
