Company description and purpose of company Ringer-Club Therwil

The founding meeting of the Ringer Club was held on October 27, 1967 in the old Rössli restaurant in Therwil. The initiator, Max Ruch, welcomed 14 attendees. Gerhard Gutzwiller was elected as the first president of a nine-person board. Those present decided that every active person had to sacrifice CHF 20 to form the fund. The wrestling club trained from 1968 to 1992 in the station school building in the so-called "wrestling cellar". In order to bring further finances into the club's coffers, they took an active part in village life and in 1971 organized the traditional "Kehrausball" for the first time. This event has remained one of the most important sources of income for the association to this day. In the following years one joined the Swiss Amateur Wrestling Association (SARV) and the SATUS. Since its inception, the association has had a total of 130 members. Over the years, various Swiss championships have been held in Therwil, including in the "Therwil Year 1999". The last Swiss championships were in 2005, resp. in 2009 as a co-organizer with RSTV Olten. The club can look back with pride on past sporting years. In addition to several runner-up titles, the club has also brought out a few Swiss champions: Max Borer, Guido Ruch, Maik Steiner and, more recently, Mike Mühlemann and Murat Argin. Murat Argin was twice Swiss champion in 1999, both in the free and in the Greco-Roman style, and he was able to celebrate the same success in 2001. These successes could be achieved by well-qualified trainers and supervisors. The association always attached great importance to efficient youth care. For this purpose, the patrons' association was founded in 1984, with the aim of providing financial support to the association's young students. Among other things, it is thanks to this association that our association has its own bus available; the maintenance of this vehicle is taken over by sponsors. Since moving to the Mühleboden schoolhouse in 1992 (conversion of a multi-purpose hall), the association has made great financial efforts. In the air raid shelter of the Mühleboden school house, an infrastructure was created with a weight room and a wrestling mat room - everything in well-maintained equipment, which should ensure a smooth training process in the future. Since autumn 1999 these purchases have started to pay off, as more young people are now finding their way to us for training and thus also for wrestling. Let's hope this trend will continue in the future. The year 2000 was extremely successful for our association. With Hüseyin Karaaslan you could provide a youth Swiss champion in both styles (freestyle and Greco), Servet Argin became Vice Swiss Champion in Greco and Murat Argin won the bronze medal in the same title fights. In October 2001 we unfortunately had to say goodbye to our founder, Max Ruch. Max Ruch has worked for the association as a board member for many years, and in 1984 he also founded the patrons' association. We will always remember Max Ruch in his comradely way. Even after 30 years, the wrestling club is still holding the Därwiler Kehrausball. The 2002 edition, the event that has now been brought forward to Friday, can be described as the most successful Därwiler Kehrausball of all time. With visitor numbers and sales figures on an unprecedented scale, our club fund received a welcome boost. The trend with the number of visitors continued in the past few years and made our event known even beyond the village boundaries. The successful story of Murat Argin continued in 2002. At the junior Swiss championships in Greco he fought his way to second place and thus the vice Swiss championship title. After various ups and downs in the years after the turn of the millennium, the number of wrestlers increased steadily in 2009 and 2010. With various measures (school training, vacation pass, youth development) an attempt was made to generate new wrestlers. In 2010, Guido Ruch resigned from his post after 30 years of uninterrupted management. During the 2010 General Assembly, Guido Ruch's great achievements were recognized once again.
