The movement plus Grenchen is an evangelical free church. We are a member of the Swiss Movement Plus Association, to which around 34 lively free churches in German-speaking Switzerland belong. The events of all the movement plus churches in German-speaking Switzerland are attended by 5000 women, men, young people and children every week. The Movement Plus Switzerland is linked to the Eglise Evangelique Apostolique de la Suisse Romande (EAER), to which 9 local free churches in French-speaking Switzerland belong. Together with Protestant free churches from many other countries, we are members of the World Apostolic Association (WAC). We call ourselves the Free Church because we - unlike the Reformed, Catholic or Christian Catholic Church - are organized under private law and are therefore independent of the state. Our legal form is that of a non-profit association. We finance ourselves through gifts, voluntary contributions and loans. We see ourselves as part of the whole of Christianity, which is why cooperation with other Christian churches and communities, especially in Grenchen and the Bürenamt, is important to us. We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance Grenchen, a regional branch of the Swiss Evangelical Alliance (SEA). The movement plus Grenchen was founded in 1995 by a handful of Christians. In the beginning, the community activities took place in the Parktheater in Grenchen and in the rented premises at Centralstrasse 80. In 2008, the movement plus was able to take over the premises of the former network at Centralstrasse 9 and expand it as a community center. There all community activities were brought together under one roof. Today, up to 50 people of all ages take part in the Sunday services of the Bewegungsplus Grenchen. Most of our members are active and involved in one of the many branches of our ward.
