Mission statement The Musikverein Verena Wollerau gives concerts as an extensively expanded wind orchestra and the diverse repertoire ranges from light music to modern rhythms and demanding classical works of wind orchestra literature. History The music association Verena Wollerau was founded in 1908. What began back then with 16 members developed into today's music association with around 65 members. Rehearsals The members meet once a week on Tuesdays (8 p.m. to 10 p.m.) for a rehearsal. In addition, there are register rehearsals before main events. Appearances The music association has around 25 public appearances every year. This includes the following main events: Spring concert: light music Winter concert: concert brass music Church events: first communion, confirmation, Corpus Christi, church consecration serenade: for the 80- and 90-year-old residents of Wollerau Music competitions: regional and national events Musical director since 1987 the proven and competent musical direction of Urs Bamert. Successes The music association Verena Wollerau, which gives concerts in the 1st class, can look back on not only the friendly solidarity but also on notable musical successes. The successes certainly include the top positions at the Schwyz cantonal music festivals, the victory at the 28th Aargau cantonal music festival in 1998 and the good results at the federal music festivals in 1991, 1996 and 2001 in the first class. The concert with live broadcast by Radio DRS in front of the Lucerne Culture and Congress Center with guest conductor Alfred Reed on the occasion of the 10th WASBE World Conference can be mentioned as a very special experience. In addition, the Musikverein has also recorded numerous sound carriers.
