Club portrait: The Liestal roller sport club offers two inline skating trainings a week for different age groups. In summer, training takes place in the open air on the Frenkenbündten sports field by the Frenke schoolhouse in Liestal. In winter we offer once a week training on inline skates in the Schauenburghalle, as well as a multi-sport training session on sneakers in the Kaserne sports hall in Liestal. For children and beginners who want to have fun and safety on inline skates without joining the club, we offer weekly courses. Information on this on our homepage. The club also organizes training trips, training camps, material maintenance courses, taster courses and various club events. Aims: The aim of the association is to promote people who like to move on inline skates. The association sees itself as a vessel for both amateur and top athletes, whereby the long-term goal is to get the youngsters more enthusiastic about competitive sports and to bring them forward internationally. Our recent successes at Swiss, European and World Championships are evidence of this successful promotion of young talent. History: The club was founded in 1989 by Kurt Steidle, who was president and coach of the club for many years. His aim was to establish what was then known as "speed roller skating" in Switzerland as a competitive sport and to get the members of the Liestals roller sports club used to the high international level. Nadine and Alain Gloor from Bubendorf are probably the best-known club members in the region. Not only did they become multiple Swiss champions, they also made it to the absolute top of the world. Numerous European Championship and World Cup medals as well as Nadine Gloor's junior world championship title from 2001 are evidence of this. Today, the two siblings work as trainers in the club and pass on their skills and knowledge to the growing athletes. Our currently most successful athlete is Livio Wenger, who crowned his achievements in 2012 with two silver medals at the World Championships, one silver medal at the European Championships, and another silver medal at the World Championships in 2014.
