It's such a thing with anniversaries - you look back a little nostalgically and make plans for the future. It's different with the Ägeriseelauf. The first Aegeri Run was organized and carried out in 1999 with simple means. 230 runners took part. Even then, the OC could count on many voluntary helpers, on the support of the community, the corporation and the clubs of Ober- and Unterägeri. This is still the case today, simply that the 230 runners have become 1600 and the organization, infrastructure and execution of the run have become more professional, so that top runners such as Viktor Röthlin, Adrian Lehmann or Tadesse Abraham were soon at the start. Viktor Röthlin, for example, took part nine times - and won the race eight times. He's also back on the 20th Ägeriseelauf, his “favorite run”, as he puts it. And now the look into the future: It should all stay that way. We want to offer the runners and guests a running festival and the sponsors and patrons a good platform to present themselves. Our anniversary is also a good opportunity to express gratitude. As mentioned, the whole of Oberägeri contributes to the Aegeri Run. We would like to thank everyone for this; especially our helpers, the community and the Oberägeri corporation, the landowners and the sponsors. For example, the main sponsor, the Migros Cooperative, Lucerne, media partners Radio Central, Nahrin, Raiffeisenbank Region Ägerital-Sattel, KIBAG, and many companies from the Ägerital. We would also like to thank the canton of Zug, which awarded the Ägeriseelauf the third time in 2018 with the label “Top Sportevent Zug”. But the most important are the runners. For many, the Ägeri run is a date that is firmly on the agenda. Some even celebrate their very own 20-year-old this year. We are especially looking forward to them and all the other 1,600 runners on the 20th Ägeri run.
